This is a three month contract designed to provide support to the IT department in order to enable the completion of installation and configuration of new network infrastructure. This position will provide Help Desk support to all staff by responding to the technical support requirements of the Agency and its personnel at the various office sites. Configure, install and provide technical support to personnel for computer hardware, printers, fax machines, peripherals and other network equipment. Provide software support for MS Office Suite, Lotus Notes, McAfee Antivirus, and other Agency applications. This position will also be responsible for the preparation and distribution of decommissioned equipment during the three month period.
Required Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma from university, community college, or equivalent experience in Computer Technology (or relevant industry certification)
- Thorough knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and various Windows applications such as MS Office Suite, AntiVirus Software, Remote Desktop Utilities i.e. VNC, Imaging Software, knowledge of LAN environments and experience configuring and maintaining computer workstations and peripherals within a LAN environment
- Working knowledge of Lotus Notes and Lotus Notes Databases
- Possess a valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle at all times
- Proven ability to work closely with others to provide individualized support
- Ability to work well in team environment
- Experience working with various operating systems such as Microsoft Windows 2000/XP Pro. Knowledge of server operating systems such as 2000/2003 and UNIX.
- Experience with 'hands on' troubleshooting in a networked environment
- Experience with documenting issues and solutions using Help Desk tracking software
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
