The incumbent is responsible for the investigation and assessment of child protection referrals using the Child Protection Standards in Ontario as well as the Differential Response Model where appropriate. They will respond to inquiries and non-child protection referrals received by the Agency and provide services as appropriate to referrals received outside of regular Agency office hours. Additionally they provide emergency/crisis services to children in the Agency’s care required outside of regular office hours and provide services in keeping with policies and procedures of the Agency. The incumbent would be authorized as a Child Protection Worker for the purpose of the Child and Family Services Act.

Other Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Social Work Degree preferred, however, consideration may be given to applicants who possess a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a minimum of 3 years related experience in a professional helping role working with families and children
- Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and Ministry of Children and Youth Services’ standards
- Demonstrated excellence in family and individual assessment and engagement skills
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention
- Excellent organizational and writing skills
- Proficiency in a Windows environment using Microsoft Office Suite
- Possess a valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle
- Bilingualism (fluency in French and English) is an asset
