  1. Amalgamation planning has continued through- out the summer with numerous meetings of both the Joint Steering Committee and the Transitional Leadership Team. As a result, several decisions have been made since you were last updated in the July newsletter. We are pleased to inform you that as of the end of August and as a result of much hard work by both teams, Ministry of Children and Youth Services support has strengthened, governance structures and procedures have been completed, and preliminary work has been completed on a draft service delivery model.

  2. The Frontenac Children's Aid Society Montreal Street office will be closed on June 1 and June 2. All services will be relocated to 1479 John Counter Blvd. If you have a meeting or appointment scheduled during this time please call 613-542-7351 for further information or assistance.

  3. The Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies (OACAS) has released the 2011 Child Welfare Report (Children’s Well-Being: The Ontarian Perspective) highlighting results of a survey conducted in March with 1,002 respondents aged 36 and over. The results show that Ontarians feel strongly about protecting children of all ages from abuse and neglect, helping find permanent families for children, providing better lives for Aboriginal children, and providing better education opportunities for children in care.

Brian Devlin, President of the Board of Directors of the Frontenac Children’s Aid Society and John Mooney, President of the Board of Directors of Lennox and Addington Family and Children Services along with their Executive Directors are pleased to announce that their respective agencies are one step closer to becoming one agency serving all of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington.

  5. Volume 1 Issue 1 of Coming Together: The Amalgamation News has been published. The newsletter discusses some of the details around the impending merger of Lennox and Addington Family and Children's Services with the Children's Aid Society of the City of Kingston and County of Frontenac, including the story of how the amalamation came about, and an introduction to the leadership team.

  6. Kingston, ON – Brian Devlin, President of the Board of Directors of the Frontenac Children’s Aid Society and John Mooney, President of the Board of Directors of Lennox and Addington Family and Children Services along with their Executive Directors are pleased to announce that their respective agencies have agreed to amalgamate the two organizations into one agency serving all of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington.

  7. arah Roosenmaallen presents a donation to the Children's Fund to Executive Director, Raymond Muldoon.For Sarah Roosenmaallen, her eighth birthday meant receiving donations instead of gifts. According to Sarah "I already have enough presents for me," so she wanted to make a donation to kids who really needed it.

  8. During November, the Frontenac Children’s Aid Society (FCAS) and other Children’s Aid Societies across the province are promoting Adoption Awareness Month to educate the community about adoption and finding permanent families for older children. Older children in the care of Children’s Aid Societies want and need permanent families.

  9. Raymond Muldoon, Executive Director and Brian Devlin, President, Board of Directors of the Frontenac Children’s Aid Society are pleased to announce that Fuller Construction of Ottawa have been awarded the contract to build the new Frontenac Children’s Aid Society facility at 817 Division St.
